Natural noise screening

Noise from roads, infrastructure, and construction projects places increasing demands on effective and durable screening solutions. We observe that more and more people are choosing wood when building noise barriers because it is a robust and sustainable option that combines function, aesthetics, and a long lifespan.

Noise barriers might not be the first thing you think of when we talk about Marnar Bruk, but the reality is that more and more people are using our products for this purpose. The cladding is delivered pre-treated from the factory, which provides an efficient construction process and reduces the need for post-treatment on the building site. The materials can be installed directly into the construction, saving time and ensuring a consistent final result.

The timber itself is not sound-absorbent, but is an important part of a tight and effective noise barrier construction. The solution is well-suited along roads, as well as in projects where shielding against noise, wind, and visibility is required.

Marnar Bruk has supplied timber for a number of projects, including in Rogaland, Agder and Vestfold.

Documented quality and long lifespan

Wood is a natural and durable material that creates an attractive visual appeal in both urban and rural settings. Marnar Bruk's products, including Royal impregnated timber, come with up to 50-year rot guarantee. This provides predictable lifespan and reduced maintenance costs over time.

The cladding is available in several colours, and combined with flexible dimensions, this provides great freedom in project design and detailing. With our own planing mill, we at Marnar Bruk can also contribute with custom-made solutions where the project requires it.

A sustainable material choice

The timber is locally sourced and produced in Norway with a focus on resource utilisation and the environment. Production is based, among other things, on the use of its own wood chips for energy purposes, and liquids are reused in the process. Combined with a long lifespan, this makes wood a sustainable alternative in noise barrier projects.

Important for project design

Marnar Bruk supplies timber for noise barrier constructions, but not complete wall systems. This gives designers and contractors complete freedom to dimension and design the solution in line with current requirements and the project's needs.

With the right design and execution, a wooden noise barrier is a robust solution that meets the requirements for function, lifespan, and aesthetics in modern development projects.
