Marnar Bruk

Rot guarantee for decking

When it comes to choosing decking for your home, ensuring a long lifespan and minimising maintenance costs is important to many.

A rot guarantee gives you peace of mind that the material will stand the test of time and resist moisture, harmful fungi and rot. Our decking comes with a 30-year rot guarantee, depending on the chosen product and treatment. Our wood is not only pressure impregnated, but also "boiled" in linseed oil. This means that Marnar Bruk's products are double-impregnated, providing one of the market's best protections against rot, harmful fungal attack and climatic stresses. The warranty assumes correct installation, maintenance and use in accordance with our FDV.

If you choose decking from Marnar Bruk with a 30-year rot guarantee, you're investing in a durable and sustainable solution that gives your home a long-lasting and durable terrace. Contact us to find the right product for your needs and ensure a safe and maintenance-friendly deck for many years to come.

The guarantee is given under the following conditions:

  • The guarantee applies to all deliveries from 1 January 2020 and has no retroactive effect.
  • The warranty applies on condition that the materials are maintained in accordance with the applicable FDV.
  • Decking that is installed in direct contact with water, soil or without adequate ventilation is not covered by the above warranty.
  • Remember that all cut surfaces must be sealed with Marnar Bruk Wood Oil for the materials to be considered correctly installed. Read more about treatment in our FDV documentation about decking.
  • The warranty only applies to the materials themselves. The warranty does not apply to other costs, such as labour costs, shipping, etc.
  • It is a prerequisite that documentation can be presented that clearly states the date of purchase and installation. Such documentation may be a receipt for the purchase of the lumber from a retailer, a handover certificate from a construction company, or other similar documentation.
  • In the event of rot, a sample must be sent to Marnar Bruk. This will be analysed by an external laboratory to determine the cause of any rot.
